A dense, compact, rounded shrub with tiny, fragrant, white flowers displayed over dark green leaves. Young twigs are yellow and stand out for winter interest.

Native to Ontario, Quebec and mid to eastern U.S.A
During the American Revolution, dried Ceanothus leaves were used as a tea substitute.
Plant in a well-drained soil, in full sun to partial shade. Deep tree-like roots make this selection drought tolerant but difficult to move once established.
