Though it is called a grass, and looks like a grass, Sisyrinchium is not a grass, but is in the iris family.
S. montanum can tolerate moderate drought. Sisyrinchium is best grown in a moist but not wet soil, in full sun to partial shade. They will self-seed in optimum conditions, so it is best to remove the flowers before they seed. Plants should be divided every few years to maintain health.
