The dark red-purple leaves are slightly dissected, wavy, almost saw-like in shape. This tree has a tall, compact, narrow form and is somewhat slower growing than others of the species. Coppery-coloured fall foliage will remain on the tree long into the winter.

An ideal vertical accent for a smaller landscape garden. Excellent as an individual specimen, in a small grouping in the landscape, or planted in rows for screening or privacy. This cultivar is known for its unique, crinkled or wavy foliage. European beech thrives in a rich, moist, well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. Very little pruning is necessary to maintain its shape.
