Edible nuts appear in clusters with spiny, hairy husks covering and extending beyond each nut. Nuts may be roasted and eaten by humans, but are usually eaten by squirrels.
A great specimen with its corky bark and well-formed crown, ideal for lawns, as a shade or street tree, especially on dry sites.
