Additional Information about Thuja x 'Green Giant'

'Green Giant' is a fast-growing, cedar cultivar (T. plicata x T. standishii) which was received from D.T. Poulsen, Denmark in 1967 and planted at the U.S. National Arboretum.

Growing & Maintenance Tips for Thuja x 'Green Giant'

Ideal for a fast-growing, tall screening or hedge. Like most cedars, it will take heavy pruning to create a dense, formal hedge. Once it is established, it is quite drought tolerant and more deer resistant than most cedars. This cultivar stands up better to snow and ice accumulation during the winter months.
