This creeping willow grows in all directions and spreads by procumbent stems. The narrow, silky leaves appear after the silvery catkins. An interesting ground cover found growing naturally on coastal dunes.

Creeping willow grows well in a medium to wet soil, in full sun to light shade. It will tolerate poorly drained, clay soils, however, it thrives in a consistently moist location.
