A rapid-growing, narrow, dense, columnar form with ascending branches holding soft, blue-green needles. They can be clipped for a more formal appearance, used as an accent plant, or planted as a screen.
This pine can be a loose, open grower, however, pinching the candles mid-spring will encourage a more compact form. Its extremely narrow form makes it ideal for confined landscape areas. As with most pines, this unusual plant grows best in a well-drained soil. It is intolerant of heavy air pollution such as ozone and sulphur dioxide.
