Various shades of white, pink or lavender blooms are produced on this tall, prairie phlox, often found growing along roadsides or in open meadows.

Grows best in an average to moist, well-drained soil, in full sun, however, it will tolerate drier areas in partial shade. More drought tolerant and resistant to powdery mildew than most other phlox species.
