This vine will cling to the smoothest surfaces with great tenacity. The olive-green coloured foliage turns brilliant red in autumn. The greenish-white flowers are followed by blue berries.

Grows best in a fertile, average to moist, well-drained soil, in full sun to full shade and is extremely drought tolerant once established. Boston ivy may take up to 2 years to become established and start climbing on its own. Pruning can be done in the fall to keep this plant within its bounds.
