Large, bright red fruit can be eaten fresh, dried, or frozen. Self-pollinating. It may take an additional year for full fruit production. Ripens mid-summer to mid-fall.

Adaptable to most well-drained soils and may be trimmed and staked in the spring. Though they sound exotic these berries are actually easy to grow, hardy plants and have been grown for centuries for their purported health-giving properties and brilliant, fruit colour. Grow in full or partial sun.
