Additional Information about Fagus sylvatica

European beech is primarily distinguished from the similar American beech by its smaller size, darker gray bark, and smaller leaves.

Growing & Maintenance Tips for Fagus sylvatica

A large tree at maturity, ideal for large spaces such as lawn and parks. Low-branched trees can be planted in multiples and pruned to create a dense screening or hedge. European beech grow best in a rich, moist, well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade.
