Lime-green, small, cupped bracts are the perfect compliment to the deep reddish stems and bronze to purple leaves.
Tolerating dry, shade conditions, it grows best in a moist to average soil, in full sun to partial shade. In deep shade, foliage may remain greener and take on a stretched appearance. Flowers appear on old growth only. Should only be pruned very lightly in the spring to maintain a tidy habit Caution: wear gloves while pruning this plant, the milky sap may severely irritate the skin and eyes and can cause severe discomfort if ingested.
