Caution: All parts of digitalis, if ingested, can cause illness. Digitalis has been used as a heart stimulant for centuries. External contact with plant parts can cause irritation for some people.
Digitalis mertonensis is a cross between D. grandiflora and D. purpurea and will grow true from seed.
Best grown in average to medium moisture, a well-drained soil, in partial shade. Can tolerate full sun with adequate moisture. Plants rarely require staking due to the sturdy stems. Remove spent flowers to improve appearance and to prevent seeds from spreading.
