Growing & Maintenance Tips for Cherry 'Rainier'

Rainier cherry trees require cross-pollination; another cherry cultivar in the neighbourhood, flowering at the same time, in order to produce fruit.

Cherry trees are adaptable to many types of soil but do not tolerate areas with standing water. Plant in average to evenly moist conditions, in full sun. North Star Cherry is a dwarf cultivar that is self-pollinating; it does not require a second plant nearby to set fruit. It can be used to pollinate other sweet cherries.
