This cultivar of gray birch demonstrates resistance to bronze birch borer.
Though birches can tolerate moderate drought, they grow best when they have cool roots. Underplant with a ground cover or mulch well, and avoid heaping the mulch against the stem. Gray birch will tolerate a range of soil moistures and conditions, except high pH. Any pruning should be done in the summer, to prevent bleeding. Normally planted in clumps with two to four stems.
