A self-seeding, clump-forming grass with narrow, sword-shaped, green leaves topped with small clusters of bright violet-blue blooms with yellow eyes.
Though it is called a grass, and looks like a grass, this plant is in the iris family.
Sisyrinchium is best grown in a moist but not wet soil, in full sun to partial shade. They will self-seed in optimum conditions, so it is best to remove the flowers before they seed. Plants should be divided every few years to maintain health.
