A large, oval, freestone, thin-skinned, golden-yellow fruit with a juicy, sweet flesh. Use for desserts, canning or cooking. Ripens in August.
'Yellow Egg' is a European plum. European plums are self-pollinating, however, fruit size and quantity improve with cross-pollination from another European or some, but not all, hybrid plums.
Plums grow best in a moist, well-drained loam or clay soil, in full sun. Early, spring flowers are very showy adding to its visual appeal.
