Inkberry grow best in a slightly acidic, slightly moist, well-drained soil, in full sun to partial shade. 'Compacta' makes an excellent evergreen hedge as it prunes well. Will tolerate wet soil. One male inkberry plant will effectively pollinate up to six female plants.
