Soft yellow, fragrant flowers appear in the fall atop wavy-leaved, green foliage, which in turn displays an orange-yellow fall colour. Greenish seed capsules split open in the fall of the following year.

Native to Ontario and other parts of North America.
Tolerant of a range of soils and pH and best planted in full sun to full shade. Removing suckers is recommended to keep colonies in check.
