Van cherry trees require cross-pollination; another cherry cultivar in the neighbourhood, in order to produce fruit.
Cherry trees are adaptable to many types of soil but do not tolerate areas with standing water. Regular pruning in the winter keeps the crowns of the trees thin and prevents disease.
